Since 1974, the UNLV Alumni Association has highlighted the impact our alumni make to UNLV and their community. These individuals are recognized for their ideals of higher education and Rebel pride. Through the awards program, the Alumni Association recognizes alumni and community leaders for their outstanding achievements and leadership at the University, throughout the community, and beyond.
The awards program has evolved over the years to honor success, service, and philanthropy. In 2019, the Achievement in Service Award was renamed after influential Association board member and past president Patrick T. Smith ’97 ’01, to honor those who demonstrate exceptional leadership and service to the University.
